HeSc has been structured in a twofold manner: on one side it presents itself as a traditional professionals’ office supported by single collaborators (see the Staff page), and on the other as one of the elements within a set of companies and professionals with competences in different technical and scientific sectors.
In its capacity as a technical professionals’ office, HeSc is able to carry out those kinds of commissions that fall inside its technical and scientific field of competences, i.e. planning of the territory, urban and architectural design, development and implementation of GISs and related software, as well as research, consulting, and teaching concerning these arguments.
For more information on this issue, please consider also the Service page.
Instead, in reference of the other disciplines near to GIS, such as agronomical and geological inquiries or aero-photogrammetrical restitutions, HeSc has localised a group of private firms and offices with which carry out interdisciplinarily oriented collaborations.
In addition to this, it must also be considered that — being faced with a demand that requires agile, flexible, but at the same time also highly qualified structures — it might become difficult to sustain the traditional model of a company’s organisation where many specialised professionals are required and considerable management costs need to be borne.
In this context, an important role is done by the Internet: the local service enterprise can strongly specialise itself in order to offer highly qualified performances without running the risk of a too marked niche existence.
Instead, in the case of tasks that require a more widespread set of competences it will be possible to envolve the partners from the co-operation network.
Since the relationships are substantially based on parity (the roles of main commissioner and second-level consultant are interchangeable) there is not even a reason to apply an advance of the cost for the service on its whole.
HeSc works actually together with the following technical, scientific, and commercial partners.
